Situated on Parrett Mountain, The Smith Acres is 20 miles South of downtown Portland, Oregon.  For much of its 100 year history, The Smith Acres was planted with Douglas Fir trees and a English and Black Walnut orchard.  There are also groves of indigenous White Oak and Madrone.  Over 10 years ago, the previous owner started logging a proportion of firs, after which the estate was left wild and fallow.  The site has a range of East and South-East facing slopes of Jory soils, which are perfect for vines.
